Lower mature size, increased milkiness, ease of calving, high growth rates and temperament are now key selection criteria for our herd. Hereford cattle are being used all over the world, to good effect, converting forage into beef, and it’s our aim to replicate that here in the Uk. Our cattle, included genetics from, Canada, Denmark, the Uk and more recently Australia.

We are currently looking into our farming system as a whole with the aim of reducing our carbon footprint and managing our farm in a sustainable fashion. We think Hereford cattle will help us achieve that.

We have been in the Premium cattle health scheme since 2010. All our calves are tissue tested for BVD at birth and all breeding stock are vaccinated for BVD. We also blood test all our breeding stock for, Johnes, and Neospora.

We are in a TB4 area.
